November 2024 Newsletter

November 1, 2024

Greetings.

Hope everyone is enjoying autumn 2024, as we approach the Holidays!

Haiti’s Children’s Hope opened on schedule, October 1, 2024, with great anticipation and timeliness. We currently have approximately 300 students from Kindergarten to the 11th Grade. With joy and love, we are continuing to provide education and meals in these challenging times. This is our 10th year of school on the mountainside!

Haiti remains the most difficult place in the western hemisphere to do effective ministry. Fortunately, we have excellent teachers and support staff, providing daily care and education. We have been protected from many of the daily dangers and difficulties in Haiti.

Inflation, food shortages, closed ports, closed roads, gangs, deportation of people, many closed schools, are part of Haitian daily life. We continue to thank God for a way to keep our Christian school open.

As the holidays approach, we hope to be able to have a small Christmas party in December, with nutritional foods and singing by our choir, music by our band, and dance, in celebration of Jesus’ birthday. Unlike first world countries, very few children are able to receive gifts personally or for their birthdays. We are praying for love, kindness, peace, joy, and a safer local community, as we share in this Christmas time in Haiti.

As we continue this work, we are asking for your prayers and gifts to provide for our school children, teachers, and support staff. We have 20 core teachers and 25 part-time teachers and staff. This includes staff for Kid’s Club Saturdays. We are trying to continue to feed up to 300 meals, 6 days a week. This is approximately 7,200 meals monthly, costing over $6,000 monthly. Staff pay is about $4,100 monthly.

We appreciate all of our faithful sponsors that pray and provide funding year round. We appreciate this opportunity to provide education, meals, basic healthcare, and influence our community in Jesus Name. May God bless you as we enjoy this holiday season and consider the poor and needy in Haiti and your community.

In Jesus’ name for His children,

Jacob E. Wilson, President Haiti’s Children’s Hope Org.
