Celebrating 12 Years of Haiti’s Children’s Hope!!!!!!
Greetings! It’s hard to believe that 12 years of Haiti’s Children’s Hope and 9 years of our HCH school are coming to a close for the summer. Our school has been able to continue throughout most of the year, in spite of the Haitian troubles. Feeding children and educating them has been important and we have been able to continue doing this well.
Thanks for your help for our students in this time of political unrest, gang activity, supply and food shortages, and unemployment. You have helped Haitian children advance in times like these.
During summer break, we hope to continue some small construction projects for the 2024 – 2025 school year:
- Playground development; adding basketball and soccer.
- We are praying for funds to complete modern toilets for our students for better hygiene at the school.
Our programs have helped us sustain a more normal life for students, teachers, cooks, and administration even in the hard times in Haiti. We have continued to pay our teachers and food bills. Inflation has been outrageous, with many variables for food cost. We are thankful to have a food subsidy plan and continue to educate children and parents on agricultural development.
I was in Haiti in November and there are still many things to accomplish. Many Haitians are knocking on our door for help. We have an excellent Haitian staff on the ground serving daily. We’re ready to expand when things stabilize.
We are thankful that our school has been able to operate, educate, and feed 300 children, 6 days a week. We are grateful for being in a secure area without too many disruptions.
We are praying for the country to stabilize in Jesus’ name. Please join us in this. Thanks for your continued support, as we anticipate a new future for Haiti. International help for the country should be available soon. May God bless your summer.
In Jesus’ name for His children,
Jacob E. Wilson, President Haiti’s Children’s Hope Org.
