Greetings,
We have had a good start to the new year at Haiti’s Children’s Hope. Thanks for your continued support, in these extremely challenging times. Christian education, lunches, and small projects continue for 2026. We have added new batteries to the solar system at our main campus and upgraded our 2008 pickup truck with maintenance work.
Our medical clinic has primarily been used for our students in recent years, with our school nurse assisting children with injuries and illnesses. In 2019, our doctor had been kidnapped in the large city. He was eventually let go and left Haiti. We are currently negotiating with a new doctor for our rural setting, to serve our school and the community. Startup fees are not too high, as we expect community support and small fees paid by patients. We are praying that this can be a sustainable opportunity, without much overhead, for the community.
As we continue to love and serve children, we still need more Child Sponsors at $25 a month. This provides opportunities for a good education, daily meals, school uniforms, books, and basic medical care. We have many sponsors that provide for more than one student, and some more than 10 or 20 students. The opportunity to learn about Jesus is probably the most important life changing thing we provide. Child Sponsorship can be done on our website or a monthly or annual check sent to our address. We will provide a welcome and photograph of each child sponsored.
As of June 2026, we will have been an organization that’s been providing for children in Haiti for 14 years. Our school will be completing its 11th year. Our Volunteer USA Staff continues to keep our overhead to a minimum. Each of our US Team Members are gifted and significant in the support they give us. Our Communications Director, Child Sponsorship Coordinator, and Financial Administrator are active and keep us in good standing with the government. They are skilled and have a heart for God and the children we serve.
Thank you for your support of HCH and your patience with communication as we do what we can in spite of the instability in the country. May God bless you as we move forward into the year and continue this important mission. We are currently spending $1,000 a week for meals when school is in session. We are currently feeding approximately 7,000 meals a month.
